May 22 - 30, 2011

I'm including a few more days this week due to Memorial Day and going to Salt Lake City to introduce Kinley to her Leatherwood family. We had a great time and Colton celebrated his birthday for the 3rd time this year!

Where is Kinley? Her headbands like to move down over her eyes often.

Colton loves to play with his Toy Story toys. This day he discovered how fun it was to play with them in the bottom oven...oh yeah! Good thing it was clean :).

Hanging out with Mommy.

We went to Salt Lake for my side of the family to meet Kinley. Both of the kiddos did great on the drive down. Kinley slept the entire time except for the last ten minutes and we only stopped once to feed both of them. Colton also took a nap and watched Toy Story 3. We are very lucky that we have such good little travelers.

We had a BBQ on Sunday so that all of my siblings and their kids could come and visit with us and meet Kinley. Colton was downstairs playing with the cousins and came upstairs to show us his initiation into the Leatherwood cousin clan....a nice red bump on his temple. He wasn't upset but we have no idea how it happened. That can happen when you get twelve very active kids together.

About to blow out a candle with help from Daddy and Grandpa on his third birthday cake of the year...this time a Woody and Buzz cake from Toy Story.

All of the cousin except for the oldest, Bryce, who was in California for a water polo tryout.

Colton's Birthday Party

Colton celebrated his birthday with some friends this year at Gymboree. We started taking Colton to Gymboree just after he turned one last year. He loves going and enjoys playing and climbing on everything. I wanted something that would be easy this year considering I would have just had a baby. Gymboree makes it so easy....they did everything, all I had to get was cake! Enjoy!

Playing with the blocks, bubbles and Kaycee.

Playing and having fun with Daddy.

This is one of Colton's new favorites....riding on Daddy's shoulders.

Getting ready to blow out the candles....three candles, two for his age and one for good luck the next year.

Eating his cake very carefully....he loved it and wanted to make sure to get every bite in his mouth :).

This week there are a lot of pictures of Kinley sleeping. She definitely likes her sleep and as newborn, she tends to sleep a lot! Enjoy!

All bundled up for a trip to the mall.

Colton's First Haicut

Colton has been a bald baby for so long that we just realized how long, especially the back, his hair was getting. So we decided to go and get his haircut for the first time. It was definitely long overdue and he looks so cute with his hair shorter. Enjoy.

The before picture, the front.

The before picture, back view.

Getting ready to get started.

Colton got to sit in a cool car, which helped to distract him.

Daddy only needed to hold his hand toward the end of the cut. The hairstylist was very quick he didn't have time to freak out.

The end product....notice the gel helping his hair in the front. He actually did awesome and we were very proud of him. Mommy got a cool "First Haircut" certificate with a lock of his hair attached.

Colton turns 2!

Colton turned 2 on May 13th. We had a birthday party planned for the next week at Gymboree so we spent his actual birthday doing exactly what he wanted. He played with all of his new toys and for lunch we went to Chuck E Cheese, his new favorite place. We enjoyed a yummy ice cream cake for dessert. Enjoy.

A look back at Colton and some fun stats about him now.

Colton's first birthday....May 13, 2010

Not a baby anymore...all toddler...Colton's 2nd birthday...May 13, 2011

Colton's 2 year stats:

Age: 2 years

Weight: 33.8 lbs (95th percentile)

Height: 37 1/4 inches (also 95th percentile)

Size: 3T clothes, size 6 or 7 shoe, size 6 diaper

Hair: Just had his first haircut a couple of weeks ago!

Teeth: All of his teeth are here except his 2 year molars.

Sleeping: Colton is a great sleeper, even with a newborn right next door. Colton still takes a nap daily, usually 2-3 hours.

Eating: He loves, loves fruit! Colton could eat fruit all day long, every meal. He also loves hot dogs, chicken nuggets, salad, cheese and pasta. He is usually a good eater, although sometimes he just doesn't feel like eating anything at all.

Movement: Colton is a very active little boy. He loves to climb, run, and now jump, as well as play catch with daddy.

Milestones: Putting sentences together. Everyday we can understand more and more of what he is saying because it is becoming clearer. Colton is a very good when he is asked if he wants to go "night night" or to take a nap. He usually says "yes" and up he goes to his bed, not complaining or whining.

Favorite toys/activities: He loves Toy Story, Caillou, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and UP. Colton loves to be outside and to play in the dirt :). He loves all of his stuffed animals/character's and he loves his favorite Colts blanket. Bath time is a favorite as well as taking showers with daddy.

Dislikes: Sitting still enough to get his diaper changed. Brushing his teeth, although lately it has become easier.

Words: Lots and lots! Colton is a little jabber and is getting easier to understand everyday.

Colton woke up to a table full of presents and cards.

Colton enjoyed opening all of his presents.

He loved all of his gifts.

Colton's favorite show right now is Caillou and we actually found a Caillou doll at Toys R Us.

Colton loves to watch Toy Story over and over. This gift pack with all of the characters is one of his favorites...he plays with them daily.

Surveying all of his gifts.

Walking around Chuck E Cheese's.

Blowing out his candle.

Eating his yummy cake.

Kinley's first week at home

We got to bring Kinley home on Monday, May 9. It was so nice to finally get her home and we were finally a complete family. I got to start putting her in all of the cute clothes that I had. Unfortunately, I wasn't expecting such a small baby and I didn't have very many newborn clothes so I had to go out and buy her some. She is a good sport with all of the pictures that are taken of her. Enjoy!
