Kinley Marsha Gant: One Year Old!

Kinley Marsha Gant! I can't believe that our little girl is one year old! This last year just flew by...seriously, where did the time go? Kinley has been such a joy in our lives. She has her diva moments, for sure, but hey, what little girl doesn't? It's so interesting to have a little girl compared to a little boy. For one, little girls have a dramatic flair to the smallest things. I love the fact that she loves to carry around purses and bags and holds the cell phone up to her ear and babbles. Ahh, things to come. Enjoy!

12 Months Old!

Height: 31 1/2 inches (95% and up)

Weight: 22.3 lbs. (50-75%)

Feeding: Kinley is completely off formula and bottles. She transitioned well to regular milk and didn't seem to miss the bottle. Kinley loves carbs, but for the life of us, we can't get her to eat any fruits. Her brother devours any fruit he can get his hands on and she won't touch it. We have tried everything we can think of. I hope that in time she'll learn to like it.

Sleeping: Kinley is a great sleeper. Currently she sleeps anywhere from 11-12 straight hours. I can't remember the last time she woke up in the middle of the night. Kinley still takes two naps a day, with her longest one in the morning. I've got her and Colton on the same nap schedule for the afternoon, which makes it easy for me to get stuff done.

Size: Kinley is still wearing size three diapers but she has completely moved into all her summer clothes which are 18-24 months. Most of clothes fit perfectly in length but some are loose in the waist. I found some cute belts to use for her bigger shorts, but for the most part, everything fits pretty good.

Teeth: Kinley has eight fully grown teeth and two molars coming in. It's crazy to me how many teeth she has. In comparison, Colton had two grown teeth and two more coming in when he turned one!

Milestones: First Birthday! Kinley started walking at 11 months and 1 week. Kinley loves to climb on things, including Mommy and Daddy :). Finally getting some hair. We've noticed lately that it's starting to grow longer and she's getting a little rats tail in the back. Good thing I have lots and lots of headbands.

Likes and Dislikes: She loves to follow her brother around and they will play "get me" games where they try to catch each other. Kinley can say, "momma," "dadda," "bye bye" while waving her hand, "boo," and "yucky." Kinley loves music and will dance to it when she hears it. She loves to play with her brother and his toys :).

Twelve months old. I had the darnest time keeping her sticker on...all she wanted to to was take it off and then put it back on.

April 29 - May 5, 2012

This week we celebrated our darling daughter's first birthday. It's amazing to me how quickly the first year goes by, yet here we are. Kinley has been such a bright spot in our lives. We are very lucky to be her mom and dad. Enjoy!

The deck is finished with the nice paint.

April 22 - 28, 2012

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Things have been crazy at the Gant household. Trying to get the pool finished and celebrating two big birthday's have taken a toll on me. Hopefully in the next couple of days I can get all caught up :).
