Mommy Daughter Date

I got Kinley and I some tickets to Disney on Ice, the Princesses.  We had a great time and Kinley sat mesmerized for the entire two hour show, as well as stood up and danced along.  I've also included a couple of random April pictures.  Enjoy!

All dressed up to see the Princesses and her favorite princess, Rapunzel.

No outing would be complete without a fun surprise.  I let Kinley pick any toy she wanted and, of course, she picked the Tangled doll.

We had fourth row seats....not too bad.

She didn't move for a long time.

The Lion King.  We saw nearly ten different shows all rolled up into one.  So much fun.

This is Mark.  Both of our kids LOVE Mark and can't wait to hang out with him when he comes over.

The kids decided to dress up in Kinley's play clothes.  This was all their doing including the sunglasses.  Love them!

Day out with Thomas

Every April, Thomas the Train comes to Boulder City for train rides.  We took the kids last year and they had a blast.  We decided to go again this year, but we went in the morning versus the afternoon.  It was much less crowded at 9:30 am and the kids were able to walk around without so many kids around them. Enjoy!

As soon as we got there, Thomas was pulling in.  The kids stopped in their tracks to watch.

Colton watching Thomas pull in.

Time to take pictures with Thomas.

We decided to sit in the open air car.  There were benches to sit on and once Thomas started moving the kids could get up and stand by the railing.

I love this picture....you can see the pure joy and excitement of riding the train on Colton's face.

Kinley enjoyed walking around as well.

Meeting Sir Topham Hat.  This was so fun for the kids and a perfect way to get ready to celebrate Colton's 4th Birthday this year which is Thomas the Train themed.

Easter 2013

We had a beautiful Easter this year.  The weather was warm enough to get in the hot tub for a little bit and the kids had fun finding their Easter eggs.  Enjoy!

Annual Easter Bunny Picture

When the kids woke up, we had breakfast then went right into coloring eggs.

Kinley had fun coloring her eggs with the help of Mommy.

Colton also enjoyed coloring the eggs.

Colton loved putting stickers all over his eggs.

Kinley is laughing at something that Colton said.  Too cute.

You can tell Colton is concentrating hard...he is sticking out his tongue.

Showing off their eggs.

What a beautiful day...so nice that we heated up the hot tub and had some fun with the kiddos.

The Easter Bunny hid their eggs while the kids were napping.  Colton had so much fun finding all of his eggs.

Showing us his Elmo egg that he found.

Kinley found her Hello Kitty egg.

She found another egg and decided to see what was in it....

and the candy goes everywhere.  Yummy!

Spring Break and the San Diego

We took the kids to San Diego for a few days over our Spring Break. We were excited to see and spend some time with our good friends, the Silvas, and to hit up the San Diego Zoo.  Enjoy!

We stayed at a hotel right across from Balboa park, which is where the Zoo is.  There was this cool kid area with lots of playgrounds.  Here the kids are on a fun go around.  I asked the kid if he wanted to get in and I'd push them and he said no thanks.  Kinley loved it!  Colton wasn't so sure.

Kinley, Andrew and Evan are in the playroom watching Mickey.  We love being able to catch up with our old friends, Ryan and Raquel.

We headed to the San Diego Zoo the next day.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast.  One of the first attractions was the huge tortoises.   This little guy came right up to us and extended his neck to see everyone.

Colton thought that this gorilla statue was so cool.

The kiddos giving us their best smile on the turtle.

Uncle Andy drove down from LA to spend the day with us and wanted to get in on the turtle action.

Colton is so into turtles right now.  Luckily, we saw a lot of different ones.

Hanging out on a horned frog.

 The elephants exhibit.

This giraffe came right up to us to say hi.  The giraffe sitting down is pregnant and was on "baby watch," meaning that the baby could come at any time.

Colton hanging with Daddy to get a better view of the Rhinos.

At the end of the day, we took a bus ride around the park.  We were able to see some things that we didn't get to earlier in the day.

March Randoms

Here are some random pictures from March.  Enjoy!

Kinley is really into books right now and loves to "read" them herself or have me sit with her and read.

Colton being silly.

We have been struggling with fully potty training Colton.  To be honest, it has to be one of the hardest parts of parenting so far.  I have no control over it and because it's one of the only things that he can completely control, it's been hard.  We've had him in underwear full time for the last month or so.  Naps and night time are also only underwear.  He's done excellent with it and hasn't had one accident.  We do, however, still struggle with the pooping part.  He will go on the toilet  but not as consistently as we'd like.  Here, Colton is showing up his big boy underwear and the new train tracks that he got for going poop.

We also took Colton to Chuck E Cheese the next day for his accomplishment.  We hadn't been in months, telling him that once he pooped in the toilet we'd go.  He had so much fun.

Both the kids enjoying some quiet time with their books.

Colton decided to take off all of his tracks (notice them on the table) and to make his train table a parking lot for some of his cars/trains.

Fun times at the park on a gorgeous day.

I packed up all of Kinley's fall/winter clothes and realized that I hadn't put away last summers swimsuits.

Out with the old and in with the new Spring/Summer clothes.

Colton has such a silly side.  He asked me to help him dress up like a princess. I'm sure I'll have fun with the picture in about, or 14 years or so :).
