Legoland Fun! (Part 1)

We had tried to go to Legoland last year but weren't able to because our car was broken into the night before and we couldn't secure our belongings while at the park.  Luckily, we were able to go this summer and even stay at the new Legoland hotel which is just steps to the park.  We had a blast.  Enjoy!

First ride of the day!

Of course it was a water ride and Kinley and I got soaked.

Airplane ride.

Eric was a good sport to go on these rides with the kids.  I don't do so well on things that go in circles quickly.

We were lucky that Kinley could ride every one but two!!!  Colton could ride all of them!

Another fun ride that goes up and down.

I took a video of this ride and all you hear is Kinley screaming every time it went up and then down. :)

One of the coolest aspects to Legoland is all of the awesome Lego statues.  I can't even wrap my head around how long it would take to put together all of them, must of taken years!

Walking into Star Wars Mini land.   CHEWIE!!

DARTH!

YODA!!

Both of the kiddos have watched Star Wars several times and had fun walking around seeing all of the various scenes from each movie.

Life size Lego Darth Vader.

Real life Lego Darth Vader!

Hugs for Darth!

Walking to the hotel for a break and some quiet time.

Cool Lego statue in the hallway of our room.

Back to the park and more rides.

Another awesome part of the park is the life size Lego scenes from The Lego Movie.  It was the exact basement set up from the movie, even down to the cat poster.

The worker stated that it took 10 master builders a year to construct all of the scenes!!!

Another awesome part to the hotel is a treasure hunt for the kids.  They had to go around the hotel to figure out four different numbers which they used to unlock their treasure.  When they opened the safe they found Legos for each of them as well as candy gold coins and a Lego magazine.  The best part, totally different Legos for the next day were put in there as well.

The fun safe with the treasure.

This hotel was so much fun and totally worth the price.  Everything in the hotel is geared towards kids, even the awesome elevators.  Everytime you get on, it's a different song.  Lots of dancing.

St. George, July 2014

Every year, my family, the Leatherwood's, all meet in St. George for a few days of swimming (lots and lots), sun and fun.  Enjoy!

Completely engaged in a movie on the drive to St. George.

Once we get there, in the pool we go.  Kinley is saying "hi" to everyone.

Time to say "hi" to the other side.

We shared a condo with Jeff, Mubbs, Luke and Logan.  The kids had so much fun playing with Luke.

Guns out and ready to get someone wet.

Colton spent a lot of time getting thrown around in the pool.  Bryce, Lance and Eric did the honors.

There he goes.

Lance's turn to thrown him in.

Daddy was there to catch him.

One day we went to the clubhouse and hit all of the pools there.  Colton and Kinley loved jumping off the diving board.

Our traditional night of ice cream at Nielson's.  My little poser.

This will be the last picture of all of the grandkids for a while.  Bryce heads for a mission in September and by the time he gets back a couple more will be gone on theirs.

The kids saying their goodbyes to Bryce for the next couple of years.

Florida, June 2014

We headed to Florida at the end of June to visit the Gant grandparents. We love going to Florida in June because it's nearly empty versus in December.  We can go to the outlet mall, a restaurant or a movie and not worry about any type of crowds.  It's wonderful!  We also love visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Gant!  Enjoy!

All packed and ready for the week long vacation.  I got the kids some new sturdy luggage with their names printed on it.

The kids slept together the night before and this is how we found them when we went to wake them up at 4:30 am.

Our first full day was spent at the beach.  The water was so warm and it wasn't crowded at all.

Grandma and Colton swimming in the ocean.

Kinley making sand castles.

Colton decided that he wanted to be buried in the sand.  We were happy to oblige him.

Ready to get out.

Kinley's turn.

We met some teenage girls who had found starfish on the ocean floor.  They placed them on the kids hats and put some water on them and the starfish just clung to their hats.

Here is a better picture of what they looked like.  Kind of creepy if you ask me.

One of the girls with Grandma and Colton and Kinley who shared the starfish with the kids.

Tired and ready to head home.

Grandpa has some cool headphones that he uses to watch his programs.  Kinley didn't move for at least 30 minutes when she put them on.

Another fun day at the beach...this time with Grandma and Grandpa.

One day we went to the Wonder Gardens.  We had been there a couple of years ago, but the ownership had changed and we wanted to see how it was.  The kids loved it!
Lots and lots of crocodiles waiting for some food.

I don't think I've ever seen some many clustered altogether like this before.  We bought some food for the kids to feed them.

The kids loved running down this wooden suspended bridge.

Visiting some birds.

More animals to see.

Lots of turtles to see and feed.

Pink Flamingos!

The kids loved seeing the tortoises as well.

They posed like this all by themselves...ahh.

Kinley talked Grandma into painting her nails.

and making some cookies!

We have officially hit the "three year old" stage.  When Kinley gets upset over something (us saying no) she will run off and hide somewhere.  Here she hid in the curtains.

At first I didn't see her.  I looked closer and saw her leg....silly girl.

Playing with Grandpa in the pool.

The one thing about Florida in June is that it tends to rain a lot.  Usually in the afternoon we would get hit with some rain so on this day we headed to Chuck E Cheese for some fun.

Hitting up Daddy's favorite ice cream shop in Bonita Springs, Heavenly Shakes, just before leaving.
