Spring Break and the San Diego

We took the kids to San Diego for a few days over our Spring Break. We were excited to see and spend some time with our good friends, the Silvas, and to hit up the San Diego Zoo.  Enjoy!

We stayed at a hotel right across from Balboa park, which is where the Zoo is.  There was this cool kid area with lots of playgrounds.  Here the kids are on a fun go around.  I asked the kid if he wanted to get in and I'd push them and he said no thanks.  Kinley loved it!  Colton wasn't so sure.

Kinley, Andrew and Evan are in the playroom watching Mickey.  We love being able to catch up with our old friends, Ryan and Raquel.

We headed to the San Diego Zoo the next day.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast.  One of the first attractions was the huge tortoises.   This little guy came right up to us and extended his neck to see everyone.

Colton thought that this gorilla statue was so cool.

The kiddos giving us their best smile on the turtle.

Uncle Andy drove down from LA to spend the day with us and wanted to get in on the turtle action.

Colton is so into turtles right now.  Luckily, we saw a lot of different ones.

 The elephants exhibit.

This giraffe came right up to us to say hi.  The giraffe sitting down is pregnant and was on "baby watch," meaning that the baby could come at any time.

Colton hanging with Daddy to get a better view of the Rhinos.

At the end of the day, we took a bus ride around the park.  We were able to see some things that we didn't get to earlier in the day.

March Randoms

Here are some random pictures from March.  Enjoy!

Kinley is really into books right now and loves to "read" them herself or have me sit with her and read.

Colton being silly.

We have been struggling with fully potty training Colton.  To be honest, it has to be one of the hardest parts of parenting so far.  I have no control over it and because it's one of the only things that he can completely control, it's been hard.  We've had him in underwear full time for the last month or so.  Naps and night time are also only underwear.  He's done excellent with it and hasn't had one accident.  We do, however, still struggle with the pooping part.  He will go on the toilet  but not as consistently as we'd like.  Here, Colton is showing up his big boy underwear and the new train tracks that he got for going poop.

We also took Colton to Chuck E Cheese the next day for his accomplishment.  We hadn't been in months, telling him that once he pooped in the toilet we'd go.  He had so much fun.

Both the kids enjoying some quiet time with their books.

Colton decided to take off all of his tracks (notice them on the table) and to make his train table a parking lot for some of his cars/trains.

Fun times at the park on a gorgeous day.

I packed up all of Kinley's fall/winter clothes and realized that I hadn't put away last summers swimsuits.

Out with the old and in with the new Spring/Summer clothes.

Colton has such a silly side.  He asked me to help him dress up like a princess. I'm sure I'll have fun with the picture in about, or 14 years or so :).
