Thanksgiving in Utah

This year was our year to be with the Leatherwood clan for Thanksgiving.  Unfortunately, Dad and Ruby weren't there but we look forward to next year.  We left early on Wednesday and returned on Sunday.  It was a great time and we did some fun things with the kids.  Enjoy!

All done eating and time to play with cars.

Kinley in her cute Turkey dress.  As my sister, Lisa, said, "Only you would find a pink dress with a turkey on it for Thanksgiving!" :)

After dinner, Kinley got herself all wet and had to be changed.  Kinley is sitting on Marshall's desk, looking for daddy to bring her some clothes.

On Saturday we took the kids and met Lisa and Mallory and Marshall at the train stop.  We took Utah Trax downtown to look at lights and have some fun.  Here, Colton is enjoying the high speed train.

Our first stop was the Gateway Mall.  Colton saw Bob the Builder as we were eating lunch.  The kid loves Bob the Builder.

After lunch, we headed to the Gateway Children's Museum.  Hours of fun was spent there, starting with the real helicopter on top of the building.

The kids loved playing on the helicopter and checked it all out.  Here Kinley found a little hiding place that fits her perfectly.

The museum was full of discovery zones.  Here Marshall and Colton are using coffee filters and seeing what happens when they put them in a tunnel of air.

Up it goes!

This house was awesome.  The kids had so much fun playing with all of the appliances that were just their size.

Mallory came by to borrow some milk :).

And to give Kinley some flowers.

Once we left the Gateway we headed to Temple Square.  Every Christmas Temple Square is full of lights.  Colton loves lights and always asks to drive around and see them so he was a little overwhelmed when he saw that nearly every tree, bush, even grass was filled with lights.

Decorating for Christmas/Meeting Santa

I decided to decorate for Christmas over a long weekend that we had.  I did it before Thanksgiving because there was no way I was going jinx myself after breaking my leg and being off work for three months last year.  I took my time getting it all up and boy was it nice not to have to worry about it when we got home from Thanksgiving.  We also took the kids to see Santa.  Enjoy!

Colton became my little helper.  He did such a good job of helping me.

I put up three tress.  This one is more centered around the kiddos with colored lights and fun ornaments.

This is Colton's idea of how the tinsel should go on the tree :).

The final look of the tree.

We took the kids to see Santa at the mall and they started a train service that makes circles.

Colton loved the train and asked to go again and again.

Meeting Santa 2012.  Kinley wouldn't smile at all.  As soon as I picked her up she was all smiles.

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures done at the beginning of November.  We went to Wetlands Park which had lots of different areas with bridges.  Enjoy!

Cute Kinley.

Halloween 2012

Back in September I asked Colton what he wanted to be for Halloween.  Without a hesitation he said, "Captain America."  We found his costume at the Disney story and got him a shield at Target.  I found this adorable Minnie Mouse costume on Etsy.  It has to be one of the cutest ones out there.  I emailed back and forth with the lady to ensure that it would fit Kinley just right.  Her outfit was basically customed made for her.  I had the darnedest time find yellow shoes so I took a pair of her white keds and spray painted them.  Add a little eye liner on her nose and cheeks and wa la, we have Minnie Mouse.  Enjoy!

 Minnie and Captain America!

Colton was so excited to go trick or treating.  He talked about it non-stop until we finally made it outside.  Kinley kept her ears on all night as did Colton with his face mask and gloves.  These kids were dedicated!

Kinley loved going up to the doors and knocking.  She even tried to go into the homes once the doors opened.  Colton was just excited to open his bag for the candy.

We literally walked around our block and since we went so early, 5:15 pm, not too many people were home yet, but the kiddos definitely scored in the candy department.  What a great Halloween!

Disneyland!

Disneyland 2012!  We spent our Nevada Day Holiday visiting the funnest place on earth, Disneyland.  Our friends, the Silva's, drove up from San Diego to go with us as well.  We had a great time and made some wonderful memories with our friends and kiddos.  Enjoy!

We had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.  Colton loved seeing all of the different characters....Kinley not so much.

Chip dropped by and visited.  Colton loved seeing him...

Kinley headed for mommy and held on tightly!

Colton had such a great time saying "Hi" to all of the different characters.

Mickey!!  Colton couldn't wait to see Mickey Mouse and then became shy when he finally saw him.

Sitting next to mommy on the race car ride.

Flying Dumbo with daddy.

Riding a horse on the carousel.

CARS LAND!  What a cool place.  They made it look exactly like the one in Cars with a real Lightning McQueen and Mater.

 Hanging out with Red.

Colton and Daddy at the Bugs Life bumper cars.  Next time we go Kinley will be big enough to go on this ride.

We spent a day in San Diego with the Silva's.  Here Kinley was chasing the birds around at a park.

Ryan showing Colton and Andrew how to throw rocks into the ocean.

Colton showing Kinley the ropes on the dolphin.

We had plans to hit up Legoland on our last day.  Unfortunately, while were at dinner the night before, some punks decided to break our window.  We think that they thought there was a purse in the backseat when all it was was the kids drink bag.  Thankfully the restaurant had security riding around the parking lot and scared them off.  They were also nice enough to vacuum up all of the glass and put some cardboard up on the window.  Unfortunately, because we couldn't secure the car, we didn't dare leave it all day at a park.  We will go to Legoland next time we're in San Diego.
