Florida, June 2014

We headed to Florida at the end of June to visit the Gant grandparents. We love going to Florida in June because it's nearly empty versus in December.  We can go to the outlet mall, a restaurant or a movie and not worry about any type of crowds.  It's wonderful!  We also love visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Gant!  Enjoy!

All packed and ready for the week long vacation.  I got the kids some new sturdy luggage with their names printed on it.

The kids slept together the night before and this is how we found them when we went to wake them up at 4:30 am.

Our first full day was spent at the beach.  The water was so warm and it wasn't crowded at all.

Grandma and Colton swimming in the ocean.

Kinley making sand castles.

Colton decided that he wanted to be buried in the sand.  We were happy to oblige him.

Ready to get out.

Kinley's turn.

We met some teenage girls who had found starfish on the ocean floor.  They placed them on the kids hats and put some water on them and the starfish just clung to their hats.

Here is a better picture of what they looked like.  Kind of creepy if you ask me.

One of the girls with Grandma and Colton and Kinley who shared the starfish with the kids.

Tired and ready to head home.

Grandpa has some cool headphones that he uses to watch his programs.  Kinley didn't move for at least 30 minutes when she put them on.

Another fun day at the beach...this time with Grandma and Grandpa.

One day we went to the Wonder Gardens.  We had been there a couple of years ago, but the ownership had changed and we wanted to see how it was.  The kids loved it!
Lots and lots of crocodiles waiting for some food.

I don't think I've ever seen some many clustered altogether like this before.  We bought some food for the kids to feed them.

The kids loved running down this wooden suspended bridge.

Visiting some birds.

More animals to see.

Lots of turtles to see and feed.

Pink Flamingos!

The kids loved seeing the tortoises as well.

They posed like this all by themselves...ahh.

Kinley talked Grandma into painting her nails.

and making some cookies!

We have officially hit the "three year old" stage.  When Kinley gets upset over something (us saying no) she will run off and hide somewhere.  Here she hid in the curtains.

At first I didn't see her.  I looked closer and saw her leg....silly girl.

Playing with Grandpa in the pool.

The one thing about Florida in June is that it tends to rain a lot.  Usually in the afternoon we would get hit with some rain so on this day we headed to Chuck E Cheese for some fun.

Hitting up Daddy's favorite ice cream shop in Bonita Springs, Heavenly Shakes, just before leaving.
